The Gathering

The ‘Gathering’ is an experience to immerse yourself in community, creative expression and connect with yourself. We use art as a medium, as it is a powerful medium for survivors to reconnect with themselves through creative expression, offering a path to healing. This event aims to inspire constructive conversations around sexual violence healing and provide you an experience through art forms, that can connect you with yourself and others.

These numbers may define our province but they do not define the individuals who are victims of sexual violence.

A powerful panel discussion featuring practitioners and individuals with lived experience, exploring the prevalence and impact of sexual violence and how art and movement can serve as transformative paths to healing.

The Moderator

Tammy Zdunich

Tammy Zdunich is a trailblazing Creative Entrepreneur, the CEO of The Well Collaborative, and Master Photographer. Beyond her entrepreneurial ventures, Tammy stands out as a passionate mental health advocate, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices for women in business.

In all her endeavors, Tammy places mental health at the forefront. She believes fostering genuine connections and creating spaces where women can gather and connect over both personal and professional topics, alleviating the sense of isolation.

Tammy’s advocacy extends to encouraging a mindset of self-compassion and grace. She gives permission for people to acknowledge that they are doing their best and that being true to oneself is not only enough but also a significant achievement.

Tammy is a catalyst for positive change within the entrepreneurial landscape, promoting mental health, connection, and authenticity.

Morgan Price

Morgan Price is an educator and advocate for survivors of sexualized violence, with a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts. Morgan is passionate about making a positive impact on survivor’s lives through her work as an Educator and Outreach Coordinator, at the Saskatoon Sexual Assault and Information Centre.

As the Founder of Transcend Trauma, Morgan has created a unique approach to therapy by creating a self-guided online therapy program for survivors. Transcend Trauma provides survivors with a comprehensive and accessible resource to navigate their healing process independently and at their own pace. Morgan’s innovative approach to mental health and trauma recovery reflects a deep understanding of the challenges faced by survivors.

Sarah Longpre

Sarah Longpre is an entrepreneur, dance instructor, and the sole owner of Saskatoon Pole & Dance Studio, which she opened in 2018 to create a welcoming space for adults to express themselves through movement. With a background in dance since 2001 and a passion for pole since 2012, she has taught a wide range of styles, including Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Burlesque, and Pole Fitness.

As the National Organizer for Pole Theatre Canada and a dedicated competitor, she has performed at events like Pole Theatre Canada and Pole Sport Organization competitions, earning accolades such as the 2017 PSO Canada West Low Flow & Floorwork champion. She has trained with some of the industry's top instructors and remains committed to growing both as a dancer and mentor.

With her leadership, Saskatoon Pole & Dance Studio has fostered a strong sense of community, contributing over $20,000 to local organizations. Sarah’s greatest joy is being in the studio, sharing her love of dance and movement with others.

Taylor Chetty

Taylor Chetty is a recent graduate from the Masters of Social Work program at the University of Regina, bringing a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her counselling and consulting practice: Returning Home. With a background as a past Victim Services Responder with the Saskatoon Police Services, and counsellor at Evolve Counselling and Wellness. Taylor has dedicated the majority of her career to stewarding victims of crime through the complex police and court processes.

Taylor approaches her work with a commitment to trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and critical frameworks, recognizing the importance of addressing the unique needs and experiences of each individual. Taylor firmly holds the belief that the key to healing lies in nurturing ourselves and the connections in our lives that enable us to return to nervous system safety.

Actively engaged in her community, Taylor uses her online platform @taylor.talking to advocate for healthy conversations around sex education, mental health, spirituality, and wellness. Taylor creates a safer and inclusive space for everyone to show up as they are.

Sophia Sparks

Sophia Sparks is a Music Teacher turned Farm Wife and Fashion Designer with an ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and a strong passion for volunteering for social change in her local communities.

Having received specialized training in working with children with disabilities, she invested herself in the education sector for the next decade, expanding into supporting sexual assault survivors through the Crisis Support Line at the Sexual Assault Centre Kingston (SACK) and helping new female immigrants acclimatize to Canada through government-funded initiatives. With first-hand experience in receiving Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and EMDR Therapy, Sophia brings a sense of safety and compassion to human connection, and hopes to give birth next month to a daughter who will grow up in a world spurred by positive change.

Sophia is currently a women’s lifestyle boutique owner and fashion designer. She owns Sunday Sparks Clothing Co., an online retail brand that has the privilege of being a Sunshine Donor for the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.
