You are Home Program:
Movement
Movement plays a vital role in our approach, allowing participants to reconnect with their bodies, process trauma, and reclaim autonomy. By focusing on movement, we address the psychological and emotional aspects of trauma, encouraging survivors/victims to regain a sense of control, reduce anxiety, and enhance emotional resilience. Current You are Home Programs incorporate Yoga Movement.
Psychoeducation
Understanding how the body and mind respond to stress through psychoeducation empowers individuals to recognize their physical and emotional states. Learning about the fight-or-flight response, the role of the nervous system, and the impact of trauma on both individuals and their communities provides people with tools and knowledge to feel more in control. Knowledge fosters confidence, which is essential for feeling safe.
Sharing Space
The Sharing Space is a welcoming environment where individuals can freely express their thoughts, experiences, and reflections. It’s designed to foster connection and build a sense of community, allowing participants to feel seen, heard, and respected. Through compassionate listening and sharing, participants can connect with others, exchange insights, and support one another. This space reduces feelings of isolation and builds trust, creating a sense of belonging that empowers individuals to feel safe and supported on their journey.
Participants do not need to share if they would rather listen.
*This is not a group therapy session.
Sound Bath + Yin Yoga
Sound baths use soothing frequencies to create a meditative state that helps calm the mind and release stress. The vibrations from sound baths can gently guide the nervous system toward relaxation, easing participants into a state where they feel safe, grounded, and at peace. Unlike physical movement, which requires active participation, sound travels effortlessly through the body and reaches areas that movement cannot, making it an especially powerful tool for healing.
